Story 3 of 15; Mary Visits Elizabeth_Luke 1:39-45

I just realized that the ESV has a significant footnote on verse 45.  So maybe I'll start including footnotes that are part of the different versions/translations.  The NASB seems to have more footnotes than the ESV.

And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit, 42 and she exclaimed with a loud cry, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! 43 And why is this granted to me that the mother of my Lord should come to me? 44 For behold, when the sound of your greeting came to my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy. 45 And blessed is she who believed that there would be[a] a fulfillment of what was spoken to her from the Lord.”

39 At that time Mary got ready and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judea, 40 where she entered Zechariah’s home and greeted Elizabeth. 41 When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. 42 In a loud voice she exclaimed: “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear! 43 But why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? 44 As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy. 45 Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!”

     42 Elizabeth spoke in a loud voice, "You are honored among women!  Your Child in honored!  43 Why has this happened to me?  Why has the mother of my Lord come to me?  44 As soon as I heard your voice, the baby in my body moved for joy.  45 You are happy because you believed.  Everything will happen as the Lord told you it would happen."
